LG enV3 Cell Phone Review

by David Stapleton

The LG enV series now introduce the new LG env3 cell phone. A very powerful update to the series. But is it the best compact QWERTY phone yet?

The features on the enV3 look really good. It has a Stereo capable Bluetooth and MicroSD memory port. The inside of the clam boast a very impressive 2.6" screen and a QWERTY keyboard and the phone now has a 3.0MP camera with flash and a camcorder.

The great thing about the number pad is that it's huge and that makes it very easy to dial. The same applies to the QWERTY board on the inside, the keys are large and widely spaces that gives you great speed when texting.

The camera and camcorder are only mediocre. The flash is a very nice touch as it makes it easier to take pictures in dim conditions but the overall quality of the images are not so impressive. If high quality images are a must then you should rather be looking at the high-end Lg enV Touch cell phone.

The GPS navigation uses VZ Navigator and has turn-by-turn directions. You can close the shell once you have started a navigation session as the front screen will tell you when to turn and the street name. The phone finds you quickly and has no problem tracking you with accuracy.

Even though texting is becoming more and more popular you should always demand good calling quality when buying phones. The enV3 certainly delivers in that department. The reception of the phone is good and the quality of the sound was excellent. All the call features on the phone are also a nice bonus.

The enV3 is more than just a phone as it has a variety of multimedia functions. It has a very nice video application and the music player is simply great. The quality of the sound speakers is also good. The phone has access to the Verizon Wireless V Cast music store.

The phone has a scaled-down version of the Obigio Web browser that is in the high-end LG enV Touch. It's not quite as fantastic as the full scale version but still very impressive.

The LG enV3 can be bought on various websites ranging from $50-80 with Verizon Wireless contract. I did search for the best deal I could find online and the link to that deal is at the bottom of this article.

All in all this as very good phone with some nice features. The design is simple and elegant. I was most impressive with the big screen on the inside and the large buttons on the number pad and keyboard. The enV3 outperforms its predecessor in every way.

I was not totally satisfied with all aspects of the phone. Yes the exterior screens looks very nice but I still thin they could have done something cooler with it. The messaging applications could have been polished a bit more and the quality of the camera was disappointing. I also would have liked to see the full scale version of the Obigio Web browser in this phone.
